Innovative Learning Blog
I am very excited to be in this program and look forward to the next two semesters. I wanted to be challenged technologically and pedogogically, and this program has met those needs. I am not a very "techy" person, and yet I am creating cutting edge technological projects and presentations, albeit at a very basic level. This program has inspired me to want to learn more about digital technology and how it applies to teaching as well as my own personal interests. For example, for my thesis my second graders created digital stories with an Internet based platform that I learned from this program. I am also using the same digital story platform to create a meaninful and personal Christmas gift. I can't wait to learn more tech skills to enhance the projects that I have created with my students as well as my own personal projects.
I also love the discussion of pedagogy in this classroom as it pertaints to 21st century learning and teaching. It seems that every video I view (from ICARE's) are videos that enlighten me to a new way of thinking or confirm a belief I had but articulated in a more clearer picture. This program has inspired me both as an educator and a person interested in technology for my own personal hobbies.
